Corrections policy
A useful correction identifies the page, the disputed result and evidence that allows the issue to be reproduced or checked.
What can you report?
Reports are welcome for incorrect place names or associations, suspicious coordinates, broken links, calculation or conversion errors, stale source dates, misleading labels, duplicated text, inaccessible presentation and route results displayed differently from the returned data.
What to include
Send the exact page URL, the value or statement at issue, what you believe it should say, and a reliable source where one exists. For intermittent or visual problems, include the device/browser and a concise screenshot or description. Do not send passwords or unnecessary personal data.
How reports are investigated
Stored place facts are checked against the maintained record and dependent pages. Calculations are reproduced from the documented formula and inputs. Route issues are separated into place resolution, request options, cached display, interpretation and the third-party route itself.
Possible outcomes
A confirmed issue may lead to correction of a record or formula, regeneration of affected pages, clearer wording, source replacement, temporary withdrawal or referral to the relevant data provider. A result consistent with the documented method and available evidence may remain unchanged.
Provider disagreements
Another map showing a different route is not conclusive evidence of error. Endpoints, travel mode, avoid settings, map version, traffic assumptions, retrieval time and rounding can all differ. Include the comparison source and exact endpoints.
