What is being calculated
Distance and speed: one mile is exactly 1.609344 kilometres. One metre per second is 3.6 kilometres per hour.
Liquid volume: one US gallon is 3.785411784 litres; one imperial gallon is 4.54609 litres. They are not interchangeable.
Fuel economy: L/100 km is reciprocal to MPG, using 235.214583 for US MPG and 282.480936 for imperial MPG. EV consumption converts the distance basis between 100 km and 100 mi.
Temperature: Celsius and Fahrenheit use the standard linear offset formulas. Display rounding never changes the internal calculation.
